What CleverConsult does
:::info Draft This article is scaffolding. The structure is right; the specifics need review by someone who can confirm them before this site goes public. :::
CleverConsult is two things working together.
1. It reads the referral package before the visit
Referral packages for complex patients are long, and most of what matters is buried in the middle of them. CleverConsult reads the whole package ahead of the appointment and produces a draft consult note from it — history, prior workup, relevant labs and imaging, with the source page noted so you can check anything you want to check.
The draft is waiting in the chart before you see the patient.
2. It scribes the visit
During the appointment, the scribe listens and captures the encounter, then merges what it heard into the draft that already exists. You are not starting from a blank note and you are not reconciling two separate documents.
Why both halves matter
Ambient scribes are now common, and most of them are good at the visit itself. The part that stays manual everywhere else is the reading — going through the referral package before the patient walks in. That is the half CleverConsult adds.
If you only use the scribe, you are using about half the product.
What it does not do
- It does not make clinical decisions or recommend management.
- It does not file or sign notes on your behalf — you review and sign.
- It does not replace your review of the referral package; it front-loads it.
