Sending referral packages
:::info Draft Partly written. The intake methods below are confirmed from the app; the rest of this page is still scaffolding. :::
There are three ways to get a referral package into CleverConsult — plus a fourth if your clinic is on Accuro, where the day sheet arrives on its own.
1. Fax it from your EMR — the most common path
Each account gets its own Fax-To Number. Add it to your EMR, and referrals faxed to it are picked up and processed automatically — nothing to upload by hand.
This is how most clinics run day to day, because it needs no change to the way referrals already arrive.

Your fax number is shown under Profile. If it says "Contact support to set up your fax number", it has not been provisioned yet — support sets it up for you.
2. Upload documents directly
On the patient's chart, the Add Docs panel takes files two ways:
- Drop PDFs — multiple files at once
- Upload a photo — JPG, PNG, HEIC or WebP, for anything you only have on paper
Anything uploaded is incorporated into the currently selected patient chart, so select the right patient first.
3. Paste text
The same panel has a free-text box — "Paste or type additional information here" — then Submit Text. Useful for a detail that arrived by email or phone rather than in the package.
4. On Accuro, it arrives on its own
Clinics with the Accuro integration do not need to fax anything. CleverConsult pulls the day sheet and patient information each morning, so the day is simply there. See Publishing notes to Accuro.
Checking what arrived
Open the Docs tab on a patient's chart to see the referral package side by side with the consult note. That layout is the point — it makes cross-checking a detail against the source quick while you work, rather than a hunt through a PDF in another window.
What makes a package process well
- The complete package, not a summary of it.
- Scanned pages that are legible.
Matching a package to the right appointment
If a package will not go through
Email support@cleverconsult.ai with the chart ID and the time you tried. Do not email the package itself.
