Remote and phone visits

The AI Scribe handles video consults and telephone visits as well as appointments in the room. The two work rather differently, though. On a video call the scribe captures the call audio directly. On a telephone call it can only hear whatever comes out of your handset.

Both start in the same place, which is the Record Scribe bar at the top of the right-hand panel.

Telephone visits use the In-Person / Phone Visit mode, which is the same mode you would use for a face-to-face appointment, because in both cases the scribe is simply listening to your room. Only video consults use Video Visit.

Video consults on Zoom, Google Meet and similar​

The important thing is to run the meeting in a browser tab, so that CleverConsult is able to share it.

  1. Start the video call in a browser tab.
  2. In CleverConsult, click Video Visit in the Record Scribe bar.
  3. When you are prompted to choose what to share, select the window or tab that the call is running in. This is what gives the scribe access to the call audio.
  4. Run the visit as you normally would.

That is the whole setup.

Telephone visits​

For a telephone visit, the scribe listens through the room. It hears the call the same way another person sitting with you would hear it, so put the call on speakerphone.

Put the phone on speakerphone and set it down close to your microphone. Both sides of the conversation then come through the room, and the scribe picks up both.
